Maura finds a five day old scratch on the dead woman's neck which may have been caused by a piece of barbed wire. The contents of her stomach and evidence they found in the assassins perch confirm that they had likely eaten breakfast together a few hours earlier. Erica was investigating an environmental problem in her district but the solution to the crime is simpler than that. Maura meanwhile is down in the dumps after donating a kidney to her half sister and neither she nor her mother have been in touch with her. Jane for her part hasn't heard from her off and on again boyfriend Casey Jones for 3 months - and he suddenly shows up at her door.
