故事紧接上一季结尾，Kiera阻止了Liber8组织发动的恐怖袭击，但事情却远不止这么简单。当本季开始之时，市长被大胆的刺客刺杀，已经消失了一段时间的Kiera不得不再次出现，与Carlos联手调查这起案件。与此同时，Kiera尝试与Alec重新取得联系并缓解他们之间的紧张关系，但是Alec在读过未来自己所留的信息之后已经完全变了一个人。Still disturbed by the message he received from his future self, Alec is lying low and doing his best to avoid Kiera. He's moved out but ignores his mother's pleas to return home. Kiera has little trouble finding him and they're soon working together. At a press conference on the City Plaza bombing the Mayor is killed. Carlos and Kiera meet and she wants to operate outside the confines of the police but reconsiders when Carlos tells her that his and Dillon's jobs are on the line. From the available CCTV footage and with Alec's help, Kiera quickly finds from where the assassin fired his shots but she isn't convinced Liber8 is behind it. Meanwhile Travis survives Sonya's assassination attempt. We learn the contents of the message Alec received from his older self.
