Mike Flaherty unexpectedly visits from Washington, meets his replacement Charlie

Plot Summary:After realizing he does want a relationship, Charlie's next attempt to get Caitlin back in a romantic mood is wrecked by a visit form his popular predecessor, Mike Flaherty, whom the mates advise to go for the presumed true love he met on Costa Rican holiday. After Mike advises to keep the mayor happy, the rest will sort out itself, Charlie tells Winston to go public with his affair with judge Claire Simmons, and even to stick to it when her husband refuses a divorce and announces a juicy book just before the mayoral elections.
