美学设计太强了
3.5.抛开storytelling不说，本片展现的艺术水准和影像技巧都可以认为是超越时代的先锋，尤其是临近结尾的几近“癫狂”的“复活”scene, 你可以仿佛看到contemporary filmmakers的各种模仿与借鉴。电影的expressionist aesthetics很大成分上来源于mise-en-scene中的各种未来主义元素，这与后半段的科学家部分算是一致，但叙事前后割裂也导致在百年前上映时也遭到了观众的嘘声退票。一个追求自我，爱恨分明的成功的女人，可以被认为是“非人”；一部前卫到对于电影艺术有预言性质的作品，最终成为了商业的失败，也成了少有的记录设计师Paul Poiret作品的影像archive.另外，电影中的东方主义元素和殖民美学，某种程度上也是非常珍贵的材料。
