没看过原著，看完电影后能会心的笑出来。杰弗里说出的murderer和赫普兹芭说出的那一声的murderer，体现了宿命，是curse。整体看下来，有一点，最后还是没说clifford的复仇计划是什么，但是也许根本就不需要了，七角楼的命运已经安排好了，杰弗里会自饮鲜血。电影还是短了点，如果能展开讲讲小马修的故事，就更能体现这个宿命以及这个结的解开了。
情节对得上，但是角色和布景很出戏
法典时代，对名著改编的电影不能抱太大希望。文艺复兴男还没转型，假如推迟五六年，他会和桑德斯的角色对调

就剧情来说这版的改编还是比较忠于原著的，但终究是只有形没有神，完全没有体现出霍桑原著的深意，更无法让人感觉到房子所代表的孤独感，以及家族与地区的历史变迁，至于小说中的哥特氛围更是一点看不到。Joe May是又一个从奥匈帝国去到好莱坞发展的导演，按说他水平也不止于此吧。。。
