Plot Summary:The citizens of the southern town Pleasant Valley lure six Yankee tourists into town where they are to be the reluctant guests for the centennial celebration of the day a band of renegade Union troops decimated the town. The town then participates in events, a different event for each of the tourists, in which the tourist is dispatched. One couple begins to suspect something and seeks a way to escape.

Splatter场面的比《血宴》更加无厘头和奇观化，不过由于镜头语言和特效水准最终表现还是太藏着掖着，布置极其省钱的“流沙”场景和《血宴》里的极简哭戏有的一拼。导演居然自写自唱主题曲，简直是Splatter界的卡朋特。角色夸张的口音和表演中的虚伪感与不和谐感，恰好传递出这个南方小镇热情狂欢之下隐藏的恶意与杀机，前半段关于仪式的台词因为明显的言外之意引发恶趣味的预期，而后半段这种集体的狂热却愈发让人毛骨悚然。《聊斋》式的转折确实出乎意料，细想之下更有着一种历史的深厚和沉重
所以说《桃花源记》本应该是个恐怖故事。
