Plot Summary:Episodes from entire military history of Portugal are told through flashbacks as a professorish soldier recounts them while marching through a Portuguese African colony in 1973. He easily draws his comrades into philosophical musings, and the little contingent suffers badly at the hands of the local military opposition.

葡萄牙历史与诗歌文学的影像呈现。片头看到奥利维拉慨叹，胶片导演。重塑葡萄牙的民族自豪感。伟大不靠征伐，靠对人类文明的贡献。三星半。主题宏大，能力不足。中世纪骑士大战毫无视觉愉悦，只剩冰冷与残酷。几个镜头拍得壮烈，断手，不屈的败将。女儿国神话太造作，出征前的夕阳，医院里的残兵败将。
即便没有资料馆的糟心中字观感大概也不会更好，自己剁的手再勉强也要看完。。
