Plot Summary:The old man Iliya sets out to the field with his carriage. He finds the stripped body of a partisan. The police officer forbids the funeral, but the old man refuses to obey. When he digs out the grave the boy twitches. Iliya takes care of him for three weeks. The police officer wants to know where the grave is. There is a bounty for the head. The old man refuses to show it. The police officer hits the old man. The man is scared. After the coup, the police officer is chased. He asks the old man for food. Then he shoots Iliya in the back.
